Born in London, educated at Kings College Wimbledon and Wadham College Oxford. Early career as a musician, a researcher and a sub-editor.
Joined Campaign Magazine in 1984 and went on to edit Design and Art Direction magazine, covering creativity in advertising and design.
Copywriter at Woollams Moira, 1989 – 1991.
From 1991 to 1996 travelled widely across India, South East Asia, China and Australasia. Worked freelance as a copywriter. Also wrote for FHM, GQ and as a contributing editor for Mens’ Health.
Started working for Publicis in 1997, and went on to work across the agency’s accounts, from McVitie’s and Muller to the Central Office of Information and the BBC.
Led pitches for Publicis and was instrumental in winning clients including The Army, Muller, Airbus and EADS.
In early 2004, part of the team that launched the first ever worldwide advertising campaign for the Swiss bank UBS. As well as overseeing creatives in the UK, New York, Zurich, Hong Kong and Tokyo, wrote the “You & Us – UBS” tagline.
Creative director on Fidelity, Zurich Insurance, Airbus and EADS.
I left Publicis in February 2013. Since then I’ve helped make a film for the Carers’ Trust, created a worldwide safety extranet for the mission critical air services group Avincis, created a content curation strategy for the AA through KPMG and worked as a consultant for Redwood.
I live in South-East London with my wife and twin daughters.
